This course provides the teacher candidate with varied experience of practice in functions inherent to the work of an active service teacher at the elementary level. Together with a certified cooperating teacher, you will have the opportunity to observe, reflect, analyze, and impart the teaching process according to the grade and subject selected. This learning experience is enriched by professional development activities at school and university. Clinical experiences consist of four hours a day for five days a week during the academic semester. Passing with a minimum of B is required.

Análisis y discusión de los últimos enfoque o técnicas pedagógicas y de las nuevas tendencias prevalecientes en las diferentes materias o disciplinas que se enseñan en el nivel elemental. Se dará especial atención a la introducción o establecimiento de programas innovadores tales como: la escuela sin grado, la enseñanza por equipo, la enseñanza individualizada, el uso de módulos instruccionales o instrucción programada, al horario escalonado y al empleo de recursos de la tecnología educativa para enriquecer el aprendizaje. Realizaran visitas a las escuelas para observar en función los últimos adelantos.

Experiencias creadoras en las Artes Plásticas, Música y Teatro para el nivel Escolar Elemental, tres créditos. Tres horas de laboratorio a la semana. Requisito previo: Permiso del director. Curso integrado. Experimentación individual y por grupos con los conceptos de color, movimiento, ritmo, sentimiento, sonido, volumen, superficie y espacio para explorar la relación de estas en la experiencia estética. Observación y trabajo con el ambiente que rodea al niño; Experiencias de Laboratorio.

The teacher candidate teaches four (4) hours daily, five (5) days a week for a semester (300 hours minimum) in the public schools of Puerto Rico, under the supervision and guidance of a cooperating teacher and a teaching practice supervisor. This teaching experience is further enriched through seminars, conferences, demonstrations, direct observations, and participation in activities inherent to in service teachers.

This course is a study of the use of Telecommunications for the enhancement of the teaching process. The basic information will be acquired through lectures and practical exercises for identifying, finding, and exchanging information. Special attention will be paid to appropriate vocabulary, equipment, and instructional strategies a teacher may use in long distance education.
