This course serves as an introduction to Technical Writing. The main purpose of the course is to train students in planning, organizing, and writing technical reports in English. this course provides training in the fundamental  techniques used in business writing. Special emphasis is given to the process of rewriting, drafting, revising and editing objective and organized technical reports such as memos, business letters, formal and informal reports, user manuals, instructions, and research papers.

This course is based on the analysis of selected readings such as stories, essays, fiction, poetry, and drama and practice in writing with attention given as needed to grammar and idiomatic expressions. This course may be offered in either of the following modes: in-person, distance, hybrid, or online.

The introduction to linguistics and an examination of the human capacity for language; students will examine how language acquisition proceeds and the theory of universal grammar. Attention will be given to children’s knowledge of language and their dependence to structure.
